The Laytonville Long Valley Lioness- Lions present The 4th Annual Spring Fling. This event benefits the Laytonville High school Student Body. It is a Mardi Gras style event with live music and entertainment featuring Pavlos Garage, Long Valley Dance and The Round Valley Feather Dancers. New Orleans style dinner and desert prepared by Dylan and Amanda Eichler and Dem Biscuits. There will also be dancing, a silent auction with really cool items, face painting games and a costume contest for the best Mardi Gras costume and mask. Frey Wines and beer. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for 13-17 and kids 12 and under are free. Doors open at 6pm. The Round Valley Feather Dancers will perform at 6:30pm. Dinner and bar open at 7:30. $14 & $ 16.
Oscar Wilde’s timely and beloved comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest” shows at the Willits Community Theatre from February 20 to March 8. Veteran Mendocino County director Maria Monti brings Wilde’s classical farce to life with an all-star cast. The play remains pertinent today depicting women taking power over their lives, while also making fun of money, status and characters who take themselves far too seriously. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25 and available online at: www.wctperformingartscenter.org or at the door.

Green is the subject of the Partners Gallery show beginning March 12,with gallery members exploring the color and the meanings of Green.There is green as new growth, as grasslands, lawns and the Plains. Works explore oxygen-producing oceanic plankton, the emanations of green light, snakeskins, personal ghosts and tentacles coiling out of an armchair. Media include painting, encaustic, mixed media, wet felt wool, painted porcelain, and woven cotton.
There is a Second Saturday Meet the Artists March 14, 5-7pm.
Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday 11-5pm.
